Talented Nigerian Afrobeats musician, David Adeleke otherwise known as Davido, has shedded light on why he is normally identified as the ‘King Of Afrobeats’ in Nigeria.
This recent disclosure made by the Aye hitmaker in an exclusive interview, saw him lay emphasis on his massive contribution to the African music landscape.
On October 21st, the Fall hitmaker turned up his Instagram page, releasing out a scorching video recording his recent sit-down with ABC News, where he painted a clear picture of the global attractiveness of the Afrobeats genre.
When hailed as the “King of Afrobeats” in the said video, Davido gladly remarked that it is a taste of hard-earned glory, a sweet fruit of patience, and a journey that began during his salad days.
The award-winning Nigerian-based singer stated emphatically that he has earned massive respect and honor in the Western World.
When asked about his music career and lifestyle, the DMW frontliner underscored that while majority of his songs align with the heritage of African culture, his lifestyle and passion for partying is in line with Western feelings.
Furthermore, Davido stated that during his youthful days, he took inspiration from Nigerian musicians such as 2face, Psquare, and D’banj.
Nonetheless, he used to groove to songs composed by top-class American rappers like 50 Cent, Ja Rule, Nelly, and Ludacris.
